The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to identify a woman who was found dead Sunday morning along southbound Interstate 25, just north of Larkspur.

The woman, whose body was found near exit 173 on southbound I-25 early Sunday morning, was found wearing grey leggings and a black long-sleeved shirt, sheriff’s officials said. She had either brown or black hair.

Investigators also recovered distinctive black-and-white plaid bedding at the scene and are hopeful that someone may recognize it.

Anyone who was in the area between 8 a.m. on May 24 and 1 p.m. on May 25 is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

Detectives originally asked for information from people in the area on June 4 or June 5, but they Tuesday morning.

In addition, anyone who traveled through the area and has phone or dash camera video is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at mtalmon@dcsheriff.net. Detectives will then send a link to upload video evidence.

Vehicles with cameras that captured activity along southbound Interstate 25 near exit 173 during those dates may have critical information, even if it doesn’t seem immediately relevant, sheriff’s officials said.

Tips can be submitted anonymously and may be eligible for a cash reward.
