More than 300 flights were canceled at Denver International Airport on Saturday and Sunday as airlines braced for a severe winter storm threatening a large swath of the country.
There were 170 canceled flights and 246 flight delays at DIA as of 3:40 p.m. Saturday, according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. Airlines have already canceled 202 .
DIA flight delays and cancellations:
- American Airlines: 14 canceled, one delayed Saturday; 15 canceled Sunday.
- Delta Air Lines: one canceled, 10 delayed Saturday; 11 canceled Sunday.
- Frontier Airlines: eight canceled, four delayed Saturday; 15 canceled Sunday.
- SkyWest: 51 flights canceled, 46 delayed Saturday; 20 canceled Sunday.
- Southwest Airlines: 55 flights canceled, 78 delayed Saturday; 64 canceled Sunday.
- United Airlines: 40 canceled, 82 delayed Saturday; 72 canceled Sunday.
Airlines have canceled more than 12,000 weekend flights across the nation because of the storm, with about 40% of the U.S. population under a winter storm warning from New Mexico to New England, according to .
Most of Colorado’s Front Range and Eastern Plains will see temperatures stay below freezing, if not below zero, through the weekend as an arctic airmass moves over the state.

Snow is also in the forecast, with the heaviest snowfall expected in the mountains, National Weather Service forecasters said.
