Hundreds of flights headed in and out of Denver International Airport were delayed on Sunday, and dozens were canceled, after an overnight storm dumped snow across Colorado.
Just under an inch of snow accumulated Sunday morning at DIA, according to . Other parts of the metro area recorded between 1 and 5 inches of snow.
By the time the last plane took off on Sunday, 1,001 flights arriving at or leaving DIA had been delayed and 145 had been canceled, . More than half of both the delayed and cancelled flights were leaving DIA.
Delays included 344 United flights, 254 Southwest flights, 202 SkyWest flights, 107 Frontier flights, 31 Delta Airlines flights, 21 American Airlines flights and 13 Key Lime Air flights , according to FlightAware. Eight other airlines delayed between one and nine flights.
SkyWest canceled the most flights at 50, followed by 44 from Southwest, 18 from United, 15 from Frontier, nine from Delta Airlines and eight from American Airlines, according to FlightAware.
