The Broncos have begun finalizing contracts with their 2026 draft class.
The club and seventh-round inside linebacker Red Murdock agreed to terms on his four-year rookie contract Tuesday, a source confirmed to The Post.
Each draft position in the NFL Draft is assigned a slot value and contract terms follow those slots. Murdock, the final selection of the draft at No. 257 overall, is slotted for a four-year deal worth $4.503 million. That includes a $122,600 signing bonus.
Murdock, who joined the “Mr. Irrelevant” club as the final pick of the draft, was an impact player at the University of Buffalo. He set the FBS record with 17 forced fumbles in his career and logged 298 tackles over his final two collegiate seasons.
Murdock is the first of seven Broncos draft picks to agree to terms. The rest of the class likely will in the coming days as they prepare to arrive in town and take part in Denver’s rookie minicamp Friday through Sunday.
Most of the negotiating in rookie contracts happens with second-rounders, where the variance in guaranteed money is wider. Denver, of course, did not make a pick in the first or second round of the draft. Its top selection was defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim at the top of the third round (No. 66 overall).
The rest of the Broncos’ draft class between Onyedim and Murdock: Fourth-round RB Jonah Coleman (No. 108) and offensive lineman Kage Casey (No. 111), fifth-round TE Justin Joly (No.152) and seventh-round S Miles Scott (No. 246) and TE Dallen Bentley (No. 256).
