Neighborhood bistro closes after 22 years on Sixth Avenue

After serving diners both as a neighborhood restaurant and a one-time city-wide destination, Table 6 has closed.

Opened in 2004 with chef Aaron Whitcomb at the helm, Table 6, at 609 Corona St. in Denver, was a trend-setting restaurant with a focus on seasonal and farm-to-table dishes. Esquire named it one of the best new restaurants in the country that year.

It was purchased in 2023 by Aniedra Nichols and Amanda Davis, who specialized in comfort food. Recent menu items included pimento cheese tater tots, Creole shrimp hush puppies with pickled green tomato remoulade, and chicken bibimbap.

The restaurant didn’t announce its closure, which was , on its website or on social media, but tributes have been pouring in, that reads: “We thank everyone at the legendary Table 6 past and present for proving hospitality always wins.”

Table 6 is one of several longtime restaurants, bars and breweries to close recently in Denver, including Bistro Barbes, Copper Kettle Brewing, Port Side, The 1Up and Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery.
