A federal grand jury Wednesday indicted a 24-year-old Loveland woman, accusing her of stealing Netflix and Blockbuster DVDs from the mail. Karen Durante was a contract mail carrier in Lyons for the U.S. Postal Service at the time authorities allege she took the DVDs.
She is accused of having 1,256 stolen DVDs, according to a federal indictment. Durante is charged with four counts of stealing mail and a fifth count of possessing stolen mail.
The penalty for theft of mail is up to five years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 fine per count. The penalty for possession of stolen mail is up to five years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
