Bitch Creek ESB
Grand Teton Brewing Co. has undergone a lot of changes in its 18 years. Changed its name. Changed its presence in Colorado. The brewery’s even changed states, moving over the pass from Wilson, Wyo., to Victor, Idaho.
After a 10-year absence, Grand Teton, known previously as Otto Bros. Brewing, is back in Colorado.
The brewery struck gold two years in a row (2004 and 2005) at the Great American Beer Festival with its Bitch Creek ESB. No wonder. It’s a beautiful deep ruby/copper color, a nose-ful of malt aromas and a grassy hop finish. A well-balanced, not overpowering, example of the style.
As Otto Bros., the company did pretty well in Colorado – until market demand for its 22-ounce bottles faded. The company expects to double its production to 7,000 barrels by summer.
Grand Teton’s beers are available on tap and in 12-ounce bottles in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, California and, once again, Colorado. Lucky us.
