It’s almost time…
A chill in the morning air isn’t just a sign that autumn has arrived; it’s also a reminder that it won’t be long before the 2008 National Western Stock Show, Rodeo & Horse Show is here. Further proof came last Thursday when top bidders at the 2007 Auction of Junior Livestock Champions were feted at the Hide Party, a dress-Western dinner held at the National Western Stadium Arena.
Take that, MS
Never underestimate the power of a woman. Sue Thomas, whose life was dramatized in the PAX television series “Sue Thomas: F.B.EYE,” shared her inspirational story of living with hearing loss and multiple sclerosis at the 10th anniversary Women Against MS Luncheon. The Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom was packed to the rafters for the event that has raised a cumulative $1 million for research and programs.
To your health
No one’s going to do it for you, so if you are a woman, it behooves you to learn more about becoming your own health-care advocate. That was the point Ginger Graham made when she discussed “The Alphabet Soup of Women’s Health: From Advocacy to Zealous Tracking and Follow-up” at a luncheon benefiting the Center for Women’s Health Research.
