BRECKENRIDGE, Colo.—Authorities have confirmed a body found in Breckenridge is that of Alphonse “Michael” Barbiere, a New Jersey man missing since Feb. 9.

Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson said Wednesday that Barbiere died of hypothermia. Police say his death was accidental.

Authorities said the 23-year-old Wall Street trader from Wyckoff, N.J., was “highly intoxicated” when he was last seen leaving a bar.

Richardson says toxicology tests have not been completed.

Barbiere was vacationing with friends when he disappeared. A search at the time turned up no sign of him.

On Friday night, a resident found a credit card belonging to Barbiere on the side of a highway. Searchers found his body in a field the next day.
