STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A 37-year-old Nebraska woman is dead after the snowmobile she was driving rolled east of Steamboat Springs.

Routt County Coroner Rob Ryg says Jodi Beier of Dakota City, Neb., was snowmobiling with family members at about 2 p.m. Friday in the Long Lake area when she briefly got separated from the group.

Ryg says family members looked for Beier and found her underneath her snowmobile.

He says they called for help and began CPR, but Beier was “basically gone” when emergency crews arrived.

Ryg says it’s not clear what caused the wreck since no one witnessed it. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
