NORMAN, Okla.—Aaron Baker had five RBIs to help lead Oklahoma to a 16-6 Big 12 baseball victory over Nebraska on Monday.
The Sooners (23-6, 4-2 Big 12) never trailed, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning after a two-run homer by Baker and the first of Garrett Buechele’s two RBIs.
Boomer Collins’ two-run single keyed a four-run seventh inning for the Cornhuskers (16-10-1, 4-5) to bring the score to 14-6, but Nebraska couldn’t sustain the rally and the Sooners added two runs in the eighth.
Baker finished 2-for-4 for the Sooners, Casey Johnson had three RBIs and Buechele, J.T. Wise and Bryant Hernandez each had two RBIs. Collins went 1-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Nebraska.
J.R. Robinson (3-1) allowed 10 hits and five runs and struck out five in 6 1-3 innings for the win.
Sean Yost (1-2) suffered the loss, allowing five hits and five runs in 2 1-3 innings.
