DENVER—Colorado is ready to pitch energy projects for funding through the national economic stimulus plan.
Democratic Gov. Bill Ritter on Wednesday laid out the plan. The governor wants some $49 million to help fund renewable energy projects such as wind and solar power in Colorado.
The proposal also includes money to train local officials in energy code enforcement. Ritter also wants money for job s training, plus almost $5 million for public outreach about saving energy.
Colorado is already getting some $80 million to make low-income homes more energy efficient.
