A high-speed chase looped through downtown Denver late Wednesday, as more than a dozen police cars pursued a vehicle over sidewalks and past the LoDo bar crowd.
At least two parked vehicles were struck by the fleeing silver truck.
The driver later ditched the truck in Adams County, stole a motorcyle and crashed near 78th Avenue and Grant Street in Adams County, police scanner exchanges indicated at about 11:15 p.m.
Paramedics were called to attend to the man. A DUI evaluation team was also called. A police spokeswoman was not immediately available.
Witness Wes Barbosa said he was with friends on Larimer Street when the truck, about the size of a Toyota Tundra, raced by at a speed he estimated at more than 80 mph. Police were about six seconds behind the truck, he said.
“Those cops looked so confused, there must have been 30 of them and they didn’t know where this guy was going, they were all over the place,” Barbosa said. “All of downtown smells like brakes.”
