A 37-year-old registered sex offender from Michigan was charged today with trying to kidnap and molest an 18-year-old woman walking on 17th Street in lower downtown Denver Sunday morning.
Yugondra Hudson of Flint, Mich., was charged with one count of second-degree kidnapping and one count of attempted sexual assault.
The Denver District Attorney’s office said Hudson tried to grab the woman near 17th Street and Blake Street at about 11 a.m. Sunday. He ran when he was confronted by another person. He was arrested by Denver police a short distance away.
He remains in the Denver County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
According to public records, Hudson was convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a incapacitated victim in Michigan in 2004.
