Boulder Valley’s school board on Friday voted to reverse a decision by Monarch High’s principal to remove head boy Dylan Quick from the student council.

Dylan, the 17-year-old son of Adams County District Attorney Don Quick, was caught with marijuana paraphernalia on school grounds in September.

He was suspended and removed from his leadership position at the school by principal Jerry Anderson.

But Dylan’s parents appealed the decision to district administrators, arguing that the school had violated its own student council constitution, which states that a head boy can’t be removed without first being impeached by the 11-member student council.
