Aspiring local MCs — start polishing your rhymes. Wu-Tang Clan’s will headline an after party at the this Saturday, Jan. 29 for Echo Mountain, the Under Armour 3rd Rail Jam tour and the Snowsports Industries America trade show. And to add to the hype, the organizers are holding a freestyle MC showdown on the mountain, where locals can compete for an opening spot before Raekwon.

Echo Mountain is one of three mountains added to the tour this year, which takes place in the park just west of Evergreen, and the resort hopes this is only the first of its many years involvement with the growing national skiing and boarding competition.

Besides the snowsports competition, the rail jam features an atmosphere heavily steeped in hip-hop with live music and graffiti crews offering live painting demos. But the day’s highlight will be the tour’s popular freestyle MC competition, the “Battle Below Zero.” The freestyle rap competition aims to pit local MCs against each other for a grand prize that includes a $500 purse, an interview on Slacker Radio, and of course the chance to share the stage with Raekwon.
