A man from Texas has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash in northwest Colorado Springs Sunday morning.
Colorado Springs Police identified the man as Adam Webb Scheffler, 22.
According to police Scheffler was killed when the vehicle he was traveling in drifted off of the road about 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of 30th Street and Centennial Boulevard. Police say the vehicle hit a large sign and then turned onto its side when it tried to get back onto the road.
Scheffler died at the scene and two other people were taken to Penrose Main Hospital with serious injuries.
According to police, speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
