Q: Will AT&T’s newest 4G phones like the Atrix and my Inspire support LTE when it arrives? Also, is AT&T telling you anything about the rollout in the Denver area? —Michael Klatman
A: AT&T said last week that those devices will not be compatible with high-speed 4G LTE (long-term evolution). The company didn’t have further details on the launch of the LTE network in Denver, indicating only that the service will go live in some markets in the middle of this year. If AT&T follows in Verizon’s footsteps, expect LTE modems (which connect laptops to the Internet via the network) to hit stores before the release of an LTE-compatible smartphone.
