PAGOSA SPRINGS — A teenager found drowned in a southwestern Colorado lake last week has been identified as a Utah member of the Navajo Nation who traveled to Lake Capote with a group of dancers from tribes in New Mexico.

The director of the Department of Justice for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe said that 19-year-old Janathan Yazzie of Montezuma Creek, Utah, was last seen last Sunday by his uncle. His body was found in the lake Wednesday morning. The Durango Herald reported that Yazzie’s grandmother identified him by tattoos he had.

The cause of death is undetermined.
