Happy birthday, Carole Lombard
One of the reigning queens of 1930s film, Carole Lombard’s specialty was the screwball comedy, in which she would reduce her male co-stars (including William Powell, Frederic March and Clark Gable) to a wobbly puddle of mush. Delightful to watch. Lombard, who died in a plane crash in 1942, would be 103 on Thursday. Anyone for a Screwball?
