Bang Salon, with three area locations, has made a habit of being green. The folks there recycle hair clippings, compost paper towels and other materials, and recycle their foils — after cleaning the chemicals off of the material. And on March 2 the business hosts a Recycled Runway fashion show to benefit SustainAbility, an organization that employs developmentally disabled people to do some of its recycling work. Salon owners Rodger and Lisa Garcia are lining up models to wear headpieces and dresses created from such recycled materials as the rubber coverings from old keyboards, plastics and papers. Clothing will be from Buffalo Exchange and some Bang stylists. Art and music are also part of the event, to be held 7-10 p.m. at Sherman Event Center, 1770 Sherman St. Tickets are $35 ($25 with student ID) at Bang Salons in Washington Park and Park Hill.
