If you’re worried about your music’s carbon footprint, then this week is for you. The best acts this week are home grown, characterized by established musicians in new bands, and upcoming bands from up north. There’s also a Pink Floyd cover band thrown in the mix because, well, people really love Pink Floyd cover bands. Here are some of the best Denver concerts for the week of Jan. 11-Jan. 17:

The Centennial, Jan. 11, Larimer Lounge, $8-$10

One of the many Denver-based projects associated with Nate Meese and Pat Meese, , is celebrating the release of its first full-length album, “Nervous System,” at the on Jan. 11. There’s a reason the Meese brothers have become such a staple in the Denver music scene, and by the sound of early tracks from “Nervous System,” the album will be the quality of music we’ve come to expect from the two. The song, “My One and Only,” is a dark, driving grove framed in shimmering guitars and a deep organ. Check it out below:

Fierce Bad Rabbit, Jan. 11, Oriental Theatre, $10

In 2012 the Colorado music scene suddenly became characterized by a folk-pop sound as local bands such as and caught fire. For the Lumineers it was Grammy nominations, and for Churchill it was the success of the single “Change.” For fans of that style of music, Fort Collins’ would be the type of band to show up on a Lumineers/Churchill Pandora station. FBR brings that popular sound to the Oriental Theatre on Friday. And at $10, tickets are much easier to come by (and cheaper) than FBR’s peers. Either way, if the popularity of this genre continues to grow, it might be a good idea to see FBR before they’re the next to take off.

Pigs on the Wing, Jan. 11 and Jan. 12, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom and the Fox Theatre, $15-20 and $15.50-$19

The music world is rife with tribute bands of iconic classic rock groups, and Pink Floyd may be the most notorious for the number of bands performing its old tunes. But just because there are so many bands dedicated to covering Floyd, it doesn’t mean that fans don’t love going to the shows. In November, Australian Pink Floyd packed the Paramount Theatre. This weekend, is performing the music of Pink Floyd with STS9 bassist David Murphy. You can catch the group at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom on Friday and the Fox Theatre on Saturday. Tickets are $15-$20 and $15.50-$19, respectively.
