Remember when music television meant just that?

Turns out, those days aren’t gone. On Thursday, Viacom announced they’re rebranding VH1 Classic as MTV Classic, which will have chunks of music video programming based on themes like genre and decade.

The channel will launch on Aug 1 with music video programming from .

Aside from music videos, MTV Classic will also feature shows from the channel’s golden age like “Beavis and Butt-head,” “Total Request Live” and “MTV Unplugged.”

But! They’re also reviving shows that marked the start of the channel’s downward spiral into irrelevance, like “Laguna Beach.” Real classic, MTV.
