For all the fans, here it is: the next single off of “Wondrous Bughouse.” Listen to the cathartic new Youth Lagoon single “Mute” below.

Youth Lagoon’s follow up to 2010’s excellent “The Year Of Hibernation” won’t be available until March 5, but we’ve already , “Dropla.” Now Trevor Powers, the man behind the Youth Lagoon moniker, has released “Mute,” the nearly six-minute second single from the upcoming “Wondrous Bughouse” LP.

In contrast to material on “The Year Of Hibernation,” “Mute” follows “Dropla’s” lead with a very present percussion section and clean production. Powers’ songwriting has clearly evolved based on “Wondrous Bughouse’s” two released singles, but both tracks feature the same linear build that hallmarked nearly every track on his debut album.

Youth Lagoon will hit Larimer Lounge on March 1 as part of his spring tour. Tickets are $16.75 in advance or $20 at the door. Take a listen to “Mute” below:
