The international — an event dedicated to the technology of music — has announced its first ever Dever date as part of the . Music Hack Day, which also takes place in San Francisco, New York, Barcelona and London, calls together programmers, designers and artists to build software, hardware and more for music.

According to the , the event “will showcase the Denver/Boulder area’s thriving tech and startup community, along with its music and food scenes.”

, hacks included a WinAmp music player for Spotify, virtual concert realities and ways to plan out vacations with live shows.

In Denver, organizers expect about 150 participants, including national digital music services such as Spotify, SoundCloud, Rdio and others opening their products up for hackers to tinker. Local digital music companies and developers such as Beatport, Bitcount, Soundwall and others will also join.

The Denver Music Hack Day takes place from July 20-21 at Galvanize.

UMS 2013, which takes place from July 18-21, includes ,,,,,, and and hundreds of local bands.
