Colorado has partnered with Denver startup Mobile Pulse to map mobile broadband service across the state. The Statewide Internet Portal Authority has released iPhone ( ) and Android ( ) apps that residents can download to help the state monitor network connections. The app automatically tests your carrier’s network data performance every few days. The state can use such testing data to help determine whether network service is down in a certain area during emergencies, such as the recent floods. Andy Vuong, The Denver Post
