Two men were in critical condition and a woman was injured in a shooting early Monday morning in Denver.

The Denver Police Department said the shooting happened at 27th and Larimer streets around 2:30 a.m.

A group of people were outside a business called , where hamburgers were being grilled and served on the patio, when gunfire erupted. Two men suffered critical injuries. A woman who was shot in the leg is expected to survive, police said.

The victims were taken to nearby hospitals, police said.

Blue evidence markers at the corner indicated that multiple shots were fired in the attack. It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the shooting.

Crime scene investigators were on scene, working the entire length of the block where the shooting occurred.

Two suspects, both men, were sought in connection with the incident. Police said they ran from the scene. A motive for the shooting was unknown.

Police were talking to a “handful” of witnesses Monday morning.

The shooting is being investigated by the Denver police gang unit, police said at the scene.

An SUV was towed from the area around 6:45 a.m. to be processed for evidence. It was hit by some of the gunfire.
