Ever try to imagine what does on his birthday? Hopefully it always goes down like “Dave Chappelle’s Block Party,” which brought Kanye West, the Roots, the Fugees, Erykah Badu and others. His birthday at Red Rocks might not be as stacked as the lineup for that 2005 film, but you’ll still get the chance to celebrate with Chappelle himself at the legendary venue in August.

Throughout last year, the reclusive Chappelle made his return , followed by and earlier this year. Now, Chappelle is prepping a bigger return, with appearances at Radio City Music Hall and now, Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Aside from the Radio City Music Hall shows, his Red Rocks birthday show on Aug. 24 is the only other performance he has scheduled for 2014.

Opening acts are yet to be announced, but you could imagine with this headliner at this venue, they’ll be pretty solid.

Tickets go on sale at noon on June 20 and cost $55-$65.

Here’s what we had to say about Chappelle’s tense return to Colorado in 2013:

Chappelle casually chain-smoked, ad-libbed a few jokes and had the crowd howling about Lil Wayne and Paula Dean. Things got tense once again when he mentioned his old material, and the crowd jumped at the chance to yell, “Rick James.” He quickly stifled the excitable audience by telling them he hated it when people brought up his old material. This is the new Chappelle, a collected time bomb, a little defeated and whip-smart.
