Shortly after taking the stage at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom Sunday night, summoned an enthusiastic response when he asked: “Do you know how to get funky?” What followed was a three hour lesson in that — getting funky. The veteran funk and jazz saxophonist has been doing this thing for more than 50 years now, and at Cervantes on Sunday, he showed that he still loves every minute of it.
