The advisory was first issued late Monday night and encompasses the cities of Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, Greeley, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Trinidad, Lamar, Burlington and Sterling.

Health officials say if smoke becomes thick, people may want to remain indoors.

The State Patrol warned motorists the smoke could reduce visibility on roads.
