An Aurora police officer provided a pick-me-up to an elderly couple during Tuesday’s snowstorm.
Officer William Woods with the District One Patrol Division was cruising near the intersection of East 6th Avenue and Havana Street in the afternoon when he saw a man fall down in the snow, according to an .
Woods pulled over to help the man up and learned he was physically handicapped, the post said.
Loading up the man’s belongings, Woods then gave the man and his wife a ride to their destination to get them out of the harsh weather conditions.
Woods became an Aurora Police Officer 21 years ago and previously served 29 years in the Army, police said.
“It should come as no surprise to us that Officer Woods has a natural instinct to help our community,” the post said.
