
The is helping boost bus traffic along the U.S. 36 corridor between Boulder and Denver, the Regional Transportation District says.
The Flatiron Flyer BRT began routes on Jan. 3, and has an average of 14,428 passengers per weekday, a 45 percent increase from previous bus service along the corridor as August 2015, according to the Regional Transportation District.
Flatiron Flyer service is comprised for six all-stop and express routes that replaced traditional RTD bus routes on U.S. 36. The BRT service runs every 3-15 minutes, depending on time of day and locations.
The new service also includes new branded buses with USB ports and 120-volt outlets for passengers to charge laptops, tablets and smartphones.
There are enhanced passenger stations with large canopies and digital information screens with bus departure times as well.
