
Commuters who use the Civic Center Station will have some adjusting to do later this week with the temporary closure of the station starting Thursday evening.
The area still will be a hub for travel, but the gates will be moved outside of the station along Broadway and Lincoln.
Street repairs on Broadway will close the station starting at 7 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Regional Transportation District.
Being closed Friday will inconvenience the largest number of riders. Passengers can expect delays and detours and should allow extra travel time, RTD says.
RTD staff will be on site to help passengers find gates.
Those who use the routes OL, 3L, 83L, 83D, 100L, 116X, CV/CS/CX, EV/ES/EX and P will board at temporary gates on Broadway between Colfax and 14th.
Routes OL, 3L, 83L, 83D, P will board at Gate C; and 100L, 116X, CV/CS/CX,EV/ES/EX will board at Gate D.
Passengers using the routes 47X, 90L, 122X, Flatiron Flyer and R/RX/RC will board buses at temporary gates on Lincoln between 17th and Colfax.
Routes 90L, 122X, Flatiron Flyer will board at Gate A; and routes R/RX/RC, 47X will use Gate B.
Also, 16th Street Mall shuttles will stop at Cleveland and resume travel at Court. The Free MetroRide will board on Lincoln and 17th at the Free MetroRide stop.
It was announced earlier this month that the 30-year-old station will get a , which will start this summer and finish by summer 2017.
