Trail Ridge Road remains closed because of icy weather at Rocky Mountain National Park

Officials will monitor conditions daily

Trail Ridge Road will not open Friday after all, but officials will re-evaluate when they might be able to open each day this weekend.

On Friday morning “park rangers experienced 20 to 30 mph winds with white-out conditions and a high temperature of 24 degrees above 11,000 feet,” according to a news release from Rocky Mountain National Park.

“Road conditions are treacherous with extreme ice,” the release stated.

The 48-mile road between Estes Park and Grand Lake also  caused by late, wet weather.
