
Cloudy skies and potential storms will threaten Memorial Day picnics on Monday, according to meteorologists at the National Weather Service.
The weekend will start off with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low to mid-70s. There’s a chance of scattered showers through Monday, when more clouds will roll in with a possibility of storms. Memorial Day temperatures should reach the upper 70s.
“We’re going to have a gradual warm-up all weekend,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Kalina.
On Saturday, there’s a chance of isolated showers that increases through the weekend.
Forecasters predict scattered showers and storms in the mountains all weekend. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday. The potential for rain and storms in higher climes increases on Monday.
