Jefferson County Schools hire new food director

Beth Wallace has more than 20 years of experience in food and nutrition services

Jefferson County Public Schools has hired away Cherry Creek School District’s director of food and nutrition services to oversee the 6 million meals the Jeffco district serves its students each year.

Beth Wallace, with more than 20 years of experience in food and nutrition services, was named Jefferson County Schools’ new food and nutrition executive this week. Wallace has been at Cherry Creek since 2010 and before that worked as director of child nutrition for the Comal Independent School District near San Antonio.

Wallace holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Colorado State University.  She also is a certified school nutrition specialist and a credentialed member of the School Nutrition Association.

She will oversee approximately 600 full-time and part-time employees in the district’s kitchens.
