The 30-year-old Fruita man who died in an all-terrain vehicle crash over in the weekend in Garfield County had a blood-alcohol content almost three times Colorado’s limit for drivers.

Jeremy Ventrello had a blood-alcohol level of 0.225, according to Coroner Robert Glassmire.

Investigators say Ventrello likely crashed late Sunday night and wasn’t discovered until early Monday. Authorities say he he lost control on a switchback and was ejected from his ATV, at which point the vehicle rolled over him.

Ventrello was riding in an area north of New Castle, officials said. He was not wearing a helmet.

Glassmire says the death is being considered an accident.
