The temperature at Denver International Airport on Sunday reached 101 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, breaking the record of 99 degrees for the day, which was set in 1955.

DIA reached 101 degrees at 3:49 p.m.

Sunday’s high of 101 fell short of the city’s all-time high of 105 degrees. Denver first reached that temperature on Aug. 8, 1878, and matched it July 20, 2005, and again on June 25 and 26, 2012, the weather service said.
