A Denver police officer was injured Saturday afternoon after trying to stop four motorcyclists who rode onto a closed bicycle race route for the Colorado Classic at Speer Boulevard and Zuni Street, according to the Denver Police Department.
One motorcyclist was injured and transported to a hospital when his motorcycle collided with the officer, who was on foot. The officer was transported to the hospital on a non-emergency status.
A second motorcyclist was taken into custody at 32nd Avenue and Federal Boulevard. The incident remains under investigation.
No other details were immediately available. The Denver police were first notified about 4:37 p.m.
