Cold Crush’s future uncertain as attempt to evict Southside Kitchen falls through, Westword reports

What will become of Cold Crush?

The fate of the popular RiNo nightclub, which was , was dealt another blow last week, .

Brian Mathenge, the club’s owner, attempted to evict his tenant John Elliott, who owns Southside Kitchen and Bar, from his business’ building at 3014 E Colfax Ave., a location he’d pegged for a future home of Cold Crush .

Mathenge claimed that Elliott had damaged the property, failed to finish electrical work and stay current on payments.

Last week, a judge ruled categorically in favor of Elliott, , throwing out the complaints against the bar.

Southside Kitchen and Bar is under a lease agreement to operate at the property until 2019. It’s unclear what will happen to Cold Crush between then and November, when it must vacate its RiNo location.

Mathenge, his lawyer and Elliott did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
