A man jumped from a duplex window to escape a Denver fire Tuesday afternoon and was taken to a hospital.

Fire investigators are looking into a report that the fire was sparked by a Molotov cocktail, said Capt. Greg Pixley, a fire department spokesman.

Firefighters were called at 2:23 p.m. to a home in the 2210 block of West Jewell Avenue, Pixley said. The man who escaped the fire, by jumping from a window, went to a neighbor’s home and 911 was called. He was taken to Denver Health medical center. Further details on the unidentified man’s injuries were not released. No one else was injured.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly. It was limited to one unit of the duplex.
