Snowstorm triggers accident alerts in Aurora, Broomfield, semi rollover

Semi-tractor trailer rolled near Vail; Archuleta Schools closed Friday due to road conditions

Broomfield and Aurora are now on accident alert as a storm that caused a semi-tractor trailer to roll off Interstate 70 and down to Highway 6 near Vail intensifies in the Denver metro area.

The snowstorm has also led to at least one school closure in the mountains. Archuleta Schools in Pagosa Springs is closed Friday because of hazardous road conditions.

The Colorado State Patrol has closed lanes on I-70 and Highway 6 after the semi-tractor trailer slid off of I-70 and tumbled onto Highway 6, according to a CSP tweet.

The crash happened between Avon and Vail. The jackknifed truck spilled crates into the snow.

The National Weather Service in Boulder released a bulletin warning people of hazardous winter travel conditions.
