A man drove his truck into his ex-girlfriend’s house Sunday afternoon in the 300 block of Simpson Street in Lafayette, setting the truck and house on fire, according to Lafayette police.

The truck burst into flames after hitting the house, according to witnesses, and the fire spread to the house.

The man was taken to the hospital under police custody, Lafayette Sgt. Fred Palmer said. No one else was hurt.

Firefighters also put the fire out before it caused much damage to the house, Palmer said.
