Air traffic is arriving and departing more or less normally Monday morning at Denver International Airport but travelers should check for possible delays before arriving.

“We’re in pretty good shape,” said Emily Williams, DIA spokesperson. At about 7:30 a.m. there were 53 delayed flights and 71 cancellations, mostly among regional carriers SkyWest Airlines and Trans State Airlines.

The wait for security lines was under 20 minutes, a normal time period for the airport, Williams said.

But metro area roads are icy and snow packed and travelers should allow themselves plenty of time to get to DIA.

“As always, check with the airlines. Delays are possible throughout the morning.”

The snow is expected to continue through the morning.
