The sunrises over a Christmas tree ...
RJ Sangosti, The Denver Post
The sun rises over a Christmas tree in Centennial Center Park on Dec. 18, 2013.

Dreaming of a white Christmas? That is unlikely.

The metro area is expected to be dry on Dec. 25, according to the National Weather Service. “It’s looking like nothing for down here,” said Kyle Freiden, NWS meteorologist. Partly cloudy skies with highs in the 40s. Otherwise it will be this filtered sunshine that we usually get in the winter.”

The weather through the weekend is expected to be sunny. On Friday, the high temperature is expected to be 50 degrees and the overnight low 28 degrees.

Saturday will again be sunny with a high near 64 degrees and an overnight low around 32.

Sunday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 65 degrees and an overnight low around 32 degees.

More clouds are expected to move in on Sunday night and Monday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high near 57 degrees and an overnight low near 30.

Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high near 49 degrees and an overnight low of 27 degrees. There is a slight chance of snow showers.

Christmas day is expected mostly sunny with a high near 43 degrees.
