One killed in northeast Denver shooting, the second homicide in that area in two days

A man is dead after a shooting early Friday morning in northeast Denver.

Police responded after midnight Friday to the 4800 block of North Chambers Road in the Gateway-Green Valley Ranch neighborhood for a report of a shooting. They found an adult male with a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The killing is the second homicide in the area in two days. Police responded to another shooting early Thursday morning in the 14500 block of East 51st Place, which is about half a mile away from the location of the Friday shooting.

One person was killed and another was seriously wounded in the Thursday shooting.

Nobody has been arrested in either case.
