Longtime Colorado band Big Head Todd and the Monsters will play a pair of concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Sept. 22, just a day after Colorado singer-songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff ends .
The 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. sets, announced Friday by promoter AEG Presents Rocky Mountains, will be all-ages admission and follow the public health orders set for previous, public concerts at Red Rocks this year.
That means will be limited to 175 socially distanced, masked people, almost ensuring a quick sell-out.
Tickets for the concerts are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, . Tickets are $165 each, plus fees.
The shows arrive as Red Rocks is experiencing a late-summer renaissance of live music. Colorado Symphony was the first to at the city-owned venue with an acoustic classical series in August, followed by Boulder’s on Sept. 14.
Following Rateliff’s run this week, Denver Film also plans to continue using Red Rocks’ parking lot for its Film on the Rocks drive-in screenings, as well as possible Denver Film Festival screenings. But these concerts are a far cry from the this year.
