Regis University food pantry organizers helped feed more than 400 families this week thanks to a $10,000 grant from the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment. On Sunday, Regis handed out holiday meal fixings and food staples to 200 families in lot 3 of its Northwest Denver Campus. The University’s Military and Veteran Services, which runs the campus Cupboard food pantry for students who need assistance, received the grant with only one caveat: Spend it by Dec. 31. The food donation was in conjunction with Porter-Billups Leadership Academy, helping hundreds of families in need during the holiday season.
