Denver will see sunshine and warm weather Thursday as residents head into an even warmer weekend.

Thursday’s city temperatures will top out around 74 degrees, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder, with sunshine all day before a slight 20% chance of overnight thunderstorms.

That pattern is expected to hold through the weekend, with temperatures climbing to 78 degrees Friday and 81 degrees Saturday. Both days will see sunshine followed by a chance of overnight storms, according to the weather service.

A winter weather advisory for Denver — issued for Wednesday’s rain and snow in the foothills and mountains — expires at noon Thursday as the warmer weather moves into the metro.

The weather service said some of the upcoming scattered storms this weekend might be strong across the plains.
