One killed, two injured in crash on Berthoud Pass, U.S. 40 reopens

No estimated time of reopening, according to the Colorado State Patrol

One person was killed and two people injured in a head-on crash on Berthoud Pass, closing U.S. 40 in both directions until 9 p.m. Friday,

The two-vehicle crash at mile point 251 was reported at 3:20 p.m., said Trooper Gabriel Moltrer. One person died in the crash and two others were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, Moltrer said.

The highway reopened at 9 p.m., according to CDOT.
